oh 50s, i love your skirts so

It could be just my love of Mad Men, but Peter Lindbergh's Vogue editorial looks absolutely wonderful. Let's just hope we don't have to wait another 18 years to see the next one.

the facts were these ...

As soon as I saw this editorial for June's Numéro Tokyo, I thought of the show Pushing Daises. Bright colours, lots of patterns, vintage-esque clothing.

If you haven't seen the show I would heartily recommend it. Without getting too much into the story (childhood sweethearts, a pie-maker who can bring the dead back to life, a sarcastic detective, a waitress with a bad case of unrequited love, Ned being the world's most adorable man*), I can say that it's defiantly worth watching, and it always makes me smile.

*and making an all-black wardrobe look non-gothic!

happy anniversary comics

For DC 75th anniversary, the fashion world gave them a present. Oh, fashion and comics might not always get along, and they both have some pretty hardcore friends who probably wouldn't get along too well, but this year they decided to get them something special. Colette got a group of designers together to create a line based on some of the more notable characters.

Even though it would be a little silly, I kind of wish they'd done a big lot of capes (or Wonder Woman's shoes).

oh, shoes

See, this is why I love shoes. Because sure, they're good for keeping your feet warm, or for being taller, but sometimes, they're just plain amazing.

See what I mean? That's just awesome. And I didn't even like Titanic that much.

addiction is a terrible thing

Recently, I seem to have developed an addiction to black ankle boots. It's all Jeffrey Campbell's fault really. I saw this shoes on Nasty Gal, and ever since then I have a terrible, terrible need to buy the world's supply of black ankle boots.

Also, apparently Danielle Steele owns 6000 pairs of Louboutin shoes. So by comparison, I barely have any shoes at all.

the upside of wearing glasses

Due to my incredibly terrible eyesight, I have to wear glasses all the time. I've worn them for so long I don't even really notice I'm wearing them any more, but they never really bothered me. In fact, the only time I wish that I didn't have to wear glasses is when I see a truly awesome pair of sunglasses*.

I want these so very badly. I'm considering getting them and then asking the optometrist to change to lenses.

*and when I go swimming. Although that's really more of a safety thing, since I everybody turns into blurs, and it's hard to tell if that blur is someone you know or if it's just some random person/something being blown in the breeze.
