This weather seems to be finally warming up (although it is supposed to get rainy again on Monday), so today it seemed like a good choice to break out my denim minidress.
I was out today when I saw it: a gorgeous vintage sheer maxi skirt. This prompted a conversation with the lovely shop assistant (from Clubhouse Lane Boutique) about the rise in popularity of maxi skirts and dresses for the summer season. And with skirts like this, why wouldn't you want to wear a maxi skirt this summer?
Although I love the colour of this skirt (Selena wore one to a photoshoot once, and it was absolutely lovely), I'm going to pull a Rachel Zoe and do a 'parallel universe' version of this:
Even though we're coming into spring now (or rather, we're supposed to be - right now it's the middle of a thunderstorm), there's a new jacket style that I'm loving right now: the aviator jacket.
If you're in Adelaide and just starting out in fashion design industry, or if you've got a label you're just starting to create one, then this might be for you! Fellow Adelaide blogger Katherine of Caught Couture has created the Uglee Challenge. It's all about taking some bad fashion-disaster-level item and turning it into something amazing! Like this for example, done by Katherine herself:
From this ...
... to this!
It's a great opportunity to get some exposure for yourself and to meet other fashion types! Head over to the Caught Couture Uglee Challenge brief for more information.
Divine Madness is an up-coming label, from my own lovely city Adelaide. The creator, Alice Rawlinson, will be showcasing her two collections at the Hotel Richmond with two short parades at 6pm and 7pm on the 3rd of September (that's tonight people!).

I love the shoulder detail of this dress.
I finally have wedge shoes! I can't even being to express how happy these shoes make me. And they're really quite comfortable. Defiantly more so than heels anyway.
